Meet the Doctor
Mariana C. Elwell, DDS, MAGD, ABGD
Dr. Elwell is the daughter of a Medical Doctor and a Doctor of Oriental Medicine. She hails from Albuquerque, NM and earned her undergraduate degree from New Mexico State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and minor degrees in Chemistry, Molecular Biology, and Spanish in 2000. Dr. Elwell was an integral member of academic research while attending NMSU. She successfully earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from University of California-San Francisco in 2004. While completing this rigorous training, Dr. Elwell promoted research and educational advancements in dentistry as the four-year elected representative of the American Dental Education Association.
Dr. Elwell subsequently commissioned as an Officer in the United States Air Force. She proudly served on active duty in Anchorage, Alaska, as a Captain and General Dentist, where she was a core member of a team providing care to over 7,000 servicemembers. During this assignment, Dr. Elwell participated in the Artic Care Humanitarian Mission, providing essential dental care to residents residing in remote areas of Northern Alaska. Dr. Elwell has since worked in private practice and community healthcare settings in Oregon, New Mexico, and New Jersey.
Dr. Elwell is a life-long student of General Dentistry. In 2012, she was awarded Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry following the successful completion of hundreds of hours of post-doctoral education. After receiving this designation, Dr. Elwell re-entered professional training and graduated from an intensive hospital-based General Practice Residency at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA in 2014. This advanced training qualified Dr. Elwell to treat complex cases on medically compromised patients using innovative clinical techniques. In 2017, Dr. Elwell earned the high designation of Master of the Academy of General Dentistry, and in 2023, she became Board Certified by the American Board of General Dentistry, becoming one of the 1% of general dentists in the United States to receive this honor.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Elwell enjoys time with family and friends, reading, music, and crafts. She is married to Richie Elwell of Bridgeton, NJ, and they reside in Cumberland County.
Elisa Hernandez
Dental Office Manager
Since joining the practice in June 2020, Elisa has been a very electric addition to our team. With several years of delivering Grade A customer service as a Certified Medical Assistant, and later as a Surgical Coordinator, Elisa proved that all administrative responsibilities could be conquered with patience and hard work. Now serving as our Dental Office Manager, Elisa swiftly oversees any issues or questions presented by our patients and insurance providers. Judy Hernandez
Office Administrator
We are proud to introduce Judy, the newest member of our team. She worked in a medical surgery center for over 6 years and acquired many skills that she is putting to good use in our office. As our Office Administrator, Judy accommodates our patients’ scheduling needs as well as handles their insurance concerns to ensure financial peace of mind regarding their dental procedures. Judy is eager to expand her dentistry knowledge and is excited to become licensed in Dental Radiology. Judy is the first joyful face you will see as you enter, welcoming you to our practice. Outside of the office, Judy is an active mom of two growing kids, and she enjoys watching Korean dramas to relax.
Peggy Weber
Clinical Supervisor
Peggy is a skilled and compassionate Certified and Registered Dental Assistant who has been in the field for over 25 years, most of which have been contributed to the Bridgeton, NJ township. She has been an integral member of the practice since Dr. Elwell took ownership in 2014. Peggy appreciates getting to know our patients personally and providing them with exceptional care. Peggy helps to keep the office running smoothly and enjoys spending time with her family, walking, yoga, and reading.
Megan Bailey
Dental Hygienist
Megan is a charismatic practitioner. She is a highly skilled and experienced dental hygienist who is excited with every patient who comes in the door. Megan loves collaborating with patients of all ages, especially children, making them feel comfortable and welcome during their first visit, while watching them grow and mature. Megan is a South Jersey native and graduate of Schalick High School. She attended Camden County College where she received her Dental Hygiene degree. She has been in the dental field for over 15 years and has enjoyed each moment, expressing passion for dental hygiene in every dental visit. Megan practices with compassion and empathy, while understanding that every patient has individualized needs, therefore she customizes her treatment as needed.
Lucia Asencion
Dental Assistant
Lucy joined our team in 2022. Since then, we have had the pleasure of having her serve as one of our outstanding dental assistants. She strives to give our patients excellent care while learning new aspects of dentistry along the way. Lucy successfully received her dental radiology license to expand her skills in this office. She also received her Medical Assistant/Phlebotomy certification in 2021. Lucy is currently attending Rowan College of South Jersey to receive her associate degree in Biology. Lucy loves working in the dental field and aspires to become a Dental Hygienist. Outside of dentistry, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her beautiful dog.
Elizabeth Alarcon
Dental Assistant
Elizabeth joined our team in 2020 and again in 2022. She is a proud graduate of Vineland High School where she became interested in the dental profession. She has worked in the dental field since then and enjoys being a part of this dynamic profession. Elizabeth received her dental radiology license in 2022 and she is enrolled currently in a dental assisting program to expand her skills and knowledge, and to earn her CDA certificate. Elizabeth is eager to help patients feel at ease and comfortable during their dental visits. She enjoys spending time doing outdoor activities with her family and friends.
